Al-Nassr Faces Ronaldo Absence After Suspension for Obscene Gesture

Al-Nassr, the Saudi Arabian football club, will be without their star player, Cristiano Ronaldo, for an upcoming match. The Portuguese superstar received a suspension from the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Football Federation due to an offensive gesture he made during Al-Nassr’s recent victory over Al-Shabab. The incident occurred when chants of “Messi” echoed through the stadium, prompting Ronaldo to react toward the opposing supporters.

As a consequence of his actions, Ronaldo faces two fines: 10,000 Saudi riyals payable to the Saudi Football Federation and an additional 20,000 riyals to Al-Shabab. His suspension means he will miss Al-Nassr’s next match against Al-Hazm on Thursday.

Despite leading the Saudi Pro League in scoring with an impressive 22 goals, Ronaldo’s absence will undoubtedly be felt by Al-Nassr. However, considering that their next opponent is currently at the bottom of the league, the team should be able to navigate the match successfully even without their talisman. This incident follows a previous controversy involving Ronaldo rubbing Al-Hilal gear on his crotch after a 2-0 defeat in early February. Al-Nassr remains seven points behind Al-Hilal in the league standings, with only 13 games remaining in the season.
