Lamine Yamal influenced by idol Messi switches to Adidas

Barcelona’s rising star, Lamine Yamal, has inked a sponsorship deal with Adidas, following in the footsteps of Argentine legend Leo Messi. The 16-year-old Spanish international is leaving Nike to join the German multinational, as confirmed by Adidas in a recent statement. Since late January, Yamal has been testing his new all-white boots, and during the Champions League quarter-finals against Napoli, he sported the chosen model for the first time.

According to Adidas, Yamal will exclusively wear the Adidas X Crazyfast Leo Messi ‘Spark Gen10s,’ making him the only player, asidefrom Messi himself, to do so. This move mirrors Messi’s own transition from Nike to Adidas back in 2006. In his own words, Yamal expressed pride in joining Adidas, a brand he idolized while growing up watching Messi. With 35 games played, 5 goals scored, and 4 assists provided, Yamal has emerged as a promising talent for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team. His debut for Spain at just 16 years and 57 days old marked a historic moment in La Roja’s history.
